Team Leader is responsible for driving the sales performance of the technical sales team, delivering client-focused solutions, and ensuring consistent revenue growth. This role combines deep technical knowledge with strong sales leadership, strategic thinking, and exceptional communication skills. The ideal candidate can translate complex technical information into business value, coach team members, and build long-term client relationships.

Key Responsibilities

Sales Leadership & Team Management

  1. Lead, mentor, and supervise a team of technical sales specialists, setting targets, KPIs, and performance standards.
  2. Provide ongoing training, coaching, and support to enhance product knowledge, sales techniques, and customer handling skills.
  3. Conduct regular sales meetings, pipeline reviews, and performance evaluations.
  4. Foster a collaborative, motivated, and results-oriented team environment.

Technical Sales Execution

  1. Understand client requirements and present tailored technical solutions that address business challenges.
  2. Conduct product demonstrations, technical presentations, and solution walkthroughs.
  3. Collaborate with engineering, product, and R&D teams to customize solutions for key clients.
  4. Prepare and deliver proposals, quotations, tenders, and technical documentation.

Client Relationship Management

  1. Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, industry partners, and key stakeholders.
  2. Act as the primary escalation point for complex customer requirements, technical clarifications, and issue resolutions.
  3. Conduct client meetings, on-site visits, and negotiations to close high-value deals.
  4. Ensure high customer satisfaction through proactive support and follow-up.

Strategic Planning & Business Development

  1. Develop strategies to expand into new markets, leverage technical capabilities, and increase revenue.
  2. Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback to support business decisions.
  3. Identify cross-selling and up-selling opportunities based on customer needs and product offerings.
  4. Work with marketing teams to design technical sales material, presentations, and campaigns.

Reporting & Documentation

  1. Monitor sales performance metrics and prepare weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports for management.
  2. Maintain accurate records of client interactions, sales activities, and deal pipelines using CRM tools.
  3. Collaborate with finance and operations teams for pricing, contracts, and delivery coordination.

Qualifications

  3. Experience in a leadership or team lead role is highly preferred.
  4. Certifications in sales management, technical product training, or industry-specific technologies are an added advantage.
  5. Strong portfolio of past achievements in sales growth, client management, or technical solution delivery.
